Scandal 506 "Get Out of Jail, Free" Thoughts

I don't even know where to begin. So let's start at the beginning of the episode.

Sally McShady Peté Langston

This woman is living off of these impeachment hearings & it is hilarious. I love her salute to the committee for having the Jeanine Locke receipts. I love her righteous indignation. I love the fact that she can't seem to remember that she killed her husband in cold blood and she's the LEAST qualified person to expose/judge folk. It makes her all the more funnier. Life is funny, man. People are funny.

My favorite part though, is when she asked Susan Ross if she was ready to be the second female President of the United States...then her petty behind reminded us that she was the first. LMBO. 

Mellie

STUPID STUPID STUPID. I don't have many words for Mellie b/c she's exhausting as hell. I'm so tired of her. BUT there was an interesting shift in her demeanor at the end that tickled my fancy. More on that later. 

Rowan/Jake/Elise/Lazarus One

I really wish I cared. But I don't. At least last night. When I re-watched this morning, I paid attention & there were a few things there that are interesting...I guess.

1) Rowan thought Elise was working w/ him to help him escape but the heffa was hired by Lazarus One (Which I'm guessing is like an international B613 -__-) to kill him. Weh.

   1a) So she's an ex-B613 agent that switched over to the Lazarus One group? Weh.

   1b) Will B613 live on vicariously through this Lazarus One entity? Weh.

2) Now that Elise is dead (smh) Jake has even more reason to be on that "I wanna kill your father" tip AGAIN. God. I guess people never change. 

3) Lastly, Thank you Jake for hanging up on Olivia not once, but twice. Thank you so much. I'm coming down Olivia Pope Lane in a minute.

OG OPA

GIRL, I LIVED. Seeing Abby in OPA, was everything. I missed her. She came in Sassy Abby like "Harpo, who dis woman" I just...

Liv outchea advising them not to lie then get mad when they tell the truth. Harrison leaked it. Yeah, he dead, but he leaked it & that's the truth. So Liv you get side eye from me for being "disgusted".

Susan Ross

I love her. So so much. I was scared when she went to David Rosen that she was gonna do something to make me not like her anymore. But alas, she was just tired of the malarkey and the bullshhh of the VP position (Washington ain't all it's cracked up to be) but most importantly, she was afraid that if Fitz were to be impeached, she would be Prez. But tbh, she would probably be the greatest president the United States in Scandal ever saw. Know why? B/c she actually takes the time to make things right for the people she serves. It's not a power play for her...she's actually there to work for the people. I love ha!

Abby in the Residence

So there were some things to swoon about from this scene. First of all, that Olivia's entertaining her best friend in her boyfriend's house. Like, I'm having some feels about this. Abby mentions how all the FLOTUS's have had sex in that room...& how weird it was to be there...well Abby, sis, would it be any weirder to know that your best friend was sexing the current president up & down that room? 

OLIVIA. I appreciate the strides you made in your communication skills. But don't you think at some point you could have said everything you said to Abby to Fitz? Including the fact that you love him too much to let him go down. What you were saying was some real ish!

Abby: If you take the stand, you could end up going to jail.

Liv: And if I get married, what in the hell you think this is?

Liv I feel you. Being FLOTUS is not your ministry. I agree with you on that. But if you would say that to Fitz, don't you think he would understand that? Or try to understand that because he loves you?

The Wedding Proposal from Hell

We should have known it wasn't gonna be like we thought. I guess Fitz is still learning something new about Olivia every day. B/c Olivia is not the flowers and candles kind of girl. So when she rejected his proposal, it was all the more painful. 

As for Olivia,

 But when I re-watched, I realized that the hoe was scared out of her mind and I actually feel bad for her. Because I am fluent in Olivia Pope, "We're not ready to get married" = I don't want to be FLOTUS. It's not that she doesn't want Fitz though. Be clear, beloved. I JUST WISH THE HEFFA COMMUNICATED THAT TO HER MAN. Alas she didn't.
I've never really been upset w/ Olivia like this before. She's done some wild crazy things to which I've justified, but I never felt as angry with her like I was last night. & I think the reason why is because she's finally being depicted as a human being. & she's finally with her guy. So the excuses of not telling him are even weaker bc y'all literally sleep in the same bed now. Other than that, all these seasons she's had a suit of armor on and this season I'm seeing a vulnerability I've never seen on her before. It's like she's naked in the public square and she doesn't know what to do. Hell, most of us wouldn't know what to do. So it's okay for me to be upset with her. Doesn't mean I love her any less.

STOP CALLING JAKE STOP STOP STOP.
On the bright side, it is inevitable that we are going to get another proposal in the future. I'm looking forward to that.

Olivia & Mellie
I wanna know why she went to Mellie to forge Fitz's signature to release Rowan & not Fitz himself. If any of you guys can answer that for me, it'd be much appreciated. Last night I drowned out what was said b/c Mellie's complaints are redundant. She's like a broken record whining about the same ish. WE KNOW. WE DON'T CARE. But when I re-watched I tried to follow. The entire time, I was saying to myself, Liv is being the bigger person. But at the same time, realistically, no matter how horrible the wife is, no matter how much blood she has on her hands, she's still the wife. What woman could ever fix their mouth to say something sideways to the wife. I discovered this morning that I have to temper my desires for Olivia to pop off on Mellie b/c most of us if put in her situation wouldn't say anything either.

I'd still like to see one read before the series is up. At least one, Shonda nem.

Olivia Pope has a sort of privilege b/c of her father's position. So between Olivia & Fitz, they're the reason why her life is baby poo. Gon witcha martyr self, Mel. I'm over it.
But Liv dropped ether when she said her father killed her son. She's so cold, she said it twice.

Divorce Proceedings
Praise God. The papers are signed. But the conversation that followed was ordained by Satan himself.
First of all, how dare Fitz. You apologize and thank the trick for what she has done for you then you say she's trying to take everything you have? I want to be gracious & blame it on the brown water you were drinking but no sir. You don't get to do that. He played Mellie, just like Cyrus said. You mad over stupid stuff. You really expected her to be on your side after you kicked her out? The team been over with. You can't have your cake & eat it too. Of course she was gonna go forward with impeaching you. Gotta deal w/ the consequences, bro. But hey, at least you have Liv by your side right?
On the flip side, thank you for pointing out how Mellie always acts blameless. You have taken responsibility (even though you were probably being very politician-like about it)  and she absolutely needs to do the same.
I'm not gonna say the same thing I've been saying about Mellie again. I don't have time. I have somewhere to be. But something about her rant, how she walked out & the end leads me to believe that'll be the last time she'll be going on the "I did this for you" speech.

The Wedding That Never Was

I tweeted this last night. & I'm posting it here b/c I think it's funny. I'm funny on twitter. Y'all should follow me. @CandyceLA

Anywho, this is the weirdest look to me. When she showed up on my screen like this, my stomach turned. I knew this wasn't for me, her, Fitz, America, Sasha, Malia none of us. I didn't like the look. It felt inauthentic. She's gorgeous regardless, don't get me wrong. But she was zoned out, not present & that's not how anybody's wedding should be, certainly not Olitz's after all we've/they've been through. We deserve the best Olitz-like wedding & this basura? Wasn't it.
There was one line that the agent said something to the effect of "You know the dogs who have cones around their necks? We're the cones" WTF!? Literally nobody wants that. So I'm glad the wedding didn't happen. I was nervous it was going to.

The End
Mellie met Liv in the tunnel in a coat & purse and hair and smile I've never seen on her before. It was almost creepy! She showed up looking like power. The way she said "I once was blind but now I can see"

Okay, now Mellie!
So she got not only Rowan out but Tom too! & she's going to have Olivia run her campaign (b/c blackmail is a b'word & who else can successfully get people into office in the Scandalverse but Olivia?) I don't know how I feel about this. It lowkey feels like Mellie bought Olivia or something. Like she owns her. It doesn't sit right in my spirit. And if Olivia is Olivia, she's going to go along w/ it b/c she feels guilty & yada yada ya. I hope she takes a different approach. & I hope she tells Fitz the truth of what's going on.

*deep sigh* I got nothing else. My thirst has decreased dramatically. But Olitz is still together & that's all that matters. I don't trust Rowan as far as I can throw him. He's up to something. B613 is back b/c like he said, it's all in his head. *deep sigh* I'll tweet more thoughts as they come to me.
