Scandal 505 "You Got Served" Thoughts

I regret I ever laid eyes on it. I wish we never met. Because if we never met, I COULD HAVE MY LIFE BACK. Don't ask me to undo the past. Don't ask me to fall out of love with Scandal. In a single sentence,

Idk what changed but this season is SO amazing. Last night's episode answered so many questions I had...so many things I was wondering. 

                                                   

I'm praying they're not throwing all this amazing in our face only for it to be ending soon. That's been heavy on my heart lately b/c it's been so good so far--it seems like it's gonna end & I don't want it to. However, I take heart b/c Kerry said before the season started how she wasn't sure how they could go on after the season 4 finale. But Olitz coming together isn't the end of Scandal...but just the beginning! & I believe that. But it's Queen Shonda's kingdom and I'm basically at her mercy.

I wonder what he's been doing all this time. Has he been taking care of Ella? I hope so b/c if it were up to Cyrus, she'd have stuck a fork in an outlet by now. smh. We got a Teddy sighting last week. It'd be awesome if we get an Ella sighting sometime soon.

Impeachment Shimpeachment.

So basically Fitz can be impeached based on stipulations created by the committee & not by a generic set of rules used for everyone? This some bull. But towards the end of the episode they found the OP hostage tape, and boo boo got real! More on that later. But as to what I think about impeachment?

Leo Bergen

Scandal has been stretching its funny bone lately! Leo Bergen & Susan Ross been cracking me up this season & I am loving it! Everything Leo said out his mouth had me dying laughing. Here are a few:

"Thing One & Thing Two"

"If you can't buy it at the mall, you can't wear it out of the house"

Not to mention his temper tantrum when he found out about Liv's ring.

I couldn't believe my eyes when he opened the door. Because I honestly didn't know when he was coming back. This was me:

Literally.  That was me. And you know I felt in my shondo that he was coming back b/c Norm's contract w/ Phantom ended & of course now that Olivia & Fitz were together in the open, we had to see how her ex felt! And we saw indeed! That man gave Liv a reverse read...true Gladiators remember the original read from Scandal 211 A Criminal, A Whore, an Idiot & a Liar. & many can recite it word for word (myself included). It was unforgettable b/c Edison was being annoying as hell and Liv had to tell him

So she had to let him pop off at the mouth then she had to let him know what's really tea w/ her & Fitz in order to get him to lie. I agree with Edison, the least she can do in exchange for his lies is to tell the truth. Kudos to her.

Y'all notice Edison is married? Wonder what his wife thought about him defending Olivia.

I don't have much words for her. At least I don't think. I do know I lol'd at her getting the boot from the committee. I mean, duh! Mellie lives in privilege & entitlement. She be shocked when people switch up on her & tell her what she's gonna do. lol. 

Senator Gibson & Senorita Rodriguez

Y'all do know she was Raven's Spanish teacher on That's So Raven? So to me, she's Senorita Rodriguez.

                                             

Anyways, they must be sexing or something. B/c they make Grade A trash together. Gibson is shady. & the blackmail plot on Marcus was wack daddy (but true to what their characters would want).

Elise & Jake

What is Jake, Olivia's voice of reason? The angel on her shoulder? Great, he's helping her but sheesh...she don't have ANYBODY else in her life that can tell her what she needs to hear? Where can I sign up to be Olivia's sister girl?

As for Elise I was with her last week, I guess. But then this week she lost me. I don't like when people shade Olivia...whether they're right or wrong. She's also Petty le Pew. Have a seat in the back with Jake.

The Interview

Noah Baker is aggy as hell but he was asking the popping questions! My friend Angelica remarked how awkward the interview was...you could tell that Liv was very uncomfortable. I mean, granted, if she's speaking in front of cameras it's on behalf of someone else--not herself. It's not easy being vulnerable & it was all over Liv's face that she'd rather change a million babies' diapers than be sitting there talking to nosey behind Noah Baker about her love life. But alas, here she was. And out of all 5 seasons, they were the realest, rawest, words to come out of Olivia's mouth.

So I'm gon break it down a lil bit.

The ring: It's actually a blessing that Mellie's dumb self leaked intel about the ring. Because when Olivia told the truth about it, what's clear is A) It wasn't bought w/ tax-payer money. It was a ring that was in his family that he gave to her. 2) This relationship between Olivia Pope & the President wasn't some sex affair but they had a legit, super sentimental kind of love.

These fools I tell ya.

Although she did omit that he built a house for her. mmmmhmmmm Wonder if & when THAT will come out.

The way this interview was shot: I don't know camera lingo or anything like that but the shots went from "normal"(& I mean the way we normally see the show) to this awesome, vintage, off-kiltered vhs tape looking shot. It was like as became vulnerable, the shot became more raw. I didn't really follow or watch the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal (mainly b/c I was a child when it happened & I wasn't that interested to go back on YT to see more about it until probably right now) but I would imagine that's how those old Monica Lewinsky interview tapes look like. It was moving with the tell of her story.

Her pain: Man Liv. I feel you. My heart broke for you, your friends, your clients, your family (bih where? but I digress) You worked so hard for everything you built to potentially be destroyed. But sis, you get to create the life you want. You can have your man and your business thriving. You can be every woman in life, love & career. You can have it all. As long as you own up to it. And sister girl, you on the right track! 

Anybody else went into a hallelujah shout when she said:

"So don't ask me to undo the past. Don't ask me to fall out of love with Fitzgerald Grant"

Cyrus

& this week, my wishes came to fruition. Not only did he acknowledge that he was the catalyst, he apologized (#unsolicited). He can't help what happens after he introduces two people to each other! So Cyrus & Mellie can keep that emotionalism. Nevertheless, my life was received b/c my question was answered.

OLITZ SEXY TIME

               

Whew! I be tryna stop myself from cheesing ode when gems like this happen. I'm sure I be looking like a creep. But I love them together. Can't help it. I must thank Kerry (& Tony) for participating in this very uncomfortable activity so that I can sit in my room, sob & melt into a puddle of my own tears from the feels I receive.

I love how their love is so limitless that they can be getting freaky deaky w/o being intimidated or turned off by talks of work. They're so daggone cute! 

Olivia: You never told me about her

Jake: You never asked.

NIGGA.

That final scene btw Fitz & Cyrus was beautiful. Manipulative, but beautiful. I loved the tears, no matter how "convenient" they were. Cyrus was being a daddy. Fitz was being a politician. But I'm glad the gang is getting back together. I'm super glad Elizabeth North is outta the Oval (but not out of our lives -__-).

FINAL THOUGHTS

As it turns out, I'm super excited for next week's episode as well! I don't think I've felt this way about Scandal since season 2. Where literally, I'm wishing Friday was next Thursday. But thank God this weekend I'm away at Morehouse Homecoming so that'll keep me pre-occupied until Monday at least.
