HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2016 Update

Howdy, y'all! Missed me?

I miss you guys. I miss Scandal and all that. I miss this blog. So I'm thinking of more things to post on this blog other than Scandal. Because once Scandal goes off, then what? Ya know?

Anyways, how was your holiday? Mine was fan-FRICKIN-tastic. Christmas was awesome. I celebrated Kwanzaa for the first time on the 5th day, Nia, with my bestest buddy Oneka (who I haven't physically seen in 9 months up until that point) and I turned another year older. Needless to say, it was an eventful holiday season.

So let's start with Christmas.

(I decorated the tree :) ) My brother is super creative and he's the best gift wrapper of us all so when he wrapped our gifts, he gave us superhero/marvel character names or something like that. It was so thoughtful and special. (Although mine wasn't a superhero or character. I still don't know the meaning of it.)

But 's okay. It's the thought that counts, right? lol

My birthday was a lituation. I was born on December 31st. I have a group of friends that I go on vacation with every year. We call ourselves the "Vacation Club". So some of us got together for a loft party and I saw some UNC alum there.

Idk why, but in my mind, I really be believing there's no UNC people in NYC because I never run into them. I know they're here, but I don't see them. lol

Anyways, I had a grand time, thanks for asking. 

So let's talk about the reason why you all are probably here reading this: Scandal.

Let me tell you something, from the date the midseason finale aired up until December 31, 2015, I could not watch not one episode of Scandal. Not any from seasons 1-4 and certainly not any from season 5. Y'all 'member how rational and calm I was w/ my thoughts from 509? How hopeful I was? Well for whatever reason, it set in that Olivia & Fitz really broke up over some bull: a refusal to properly communicate. And I could. not. deal. I'm still on the Olitz ship. But they're gonna have to earn my love back.

At the top of the new year, after the Christmas season ended and the songs that once gave me joy but now traumatize me (cc: Baby It's Cold Outside & Someday at Christmas Stevie Wonder version) stopped playing, I was finally able to go back and rewatch like 3 or 4 episodes from season 5. I didn't get through them all. But in hindsight, I realized Liv lied like a mug to Fitz. She was living moment to moment without any idea of what she wanted the big picture to look like. So how can she and Fitz build something together w/o a clear vision for where they wanted their relationship to go? It all goes back to communication. Easier said than done, I guess.

Then this gem of a promo came out:

A) Mellie waiting in Liv's office?!?

Okay. So are we going in the direction of Liv being Mellie's campaign manager? That's kind of sick and twisted, given the demented relationship these two have but girl power, I guess. Also I'm praying if this is to be, it doesn't turn into a fanfic where they develop an attraction for each other and, well...yeah no.

2) Liv wears colors now!?

C) PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY, KILL JAKE!
The man serves ZERO purpose except to make Liv feel bad about the choices she makes that don't include standing in the sun/running away with him every chance he gets.

Scott Foley is cool peoples and I want him to be employed, but...if ya'll gon keep him, Shonda nem, please give him SOMETHING better than what he's doing right now.

I'm going into this half of season 5 with the belief that Olivia & Fitz are never getting back together again. This way, I can be surprised if/when they do.

lowkey, I'm more interested to see whose baby Annalise is holding in HTGAWM

Last but not least.

If you don't know, I am very much so a Christian and I am building a stronger relationship with Christ. Currently I'm doing a partial fast called the Daniel Fast--which is basically a vegan diet with no bread. I'm doing it with my PK sister Marshé and so far, so good! Well, there are ups and downs, but it gets easier day by day. Denying my flesh in this way is especially challenging b/c I LOVE to eat. But fasting isn't about what you can/can't eat or drink as much as it is about renouncing the natural to invoke the supernatural. I can't be in the same place at the end of 2016 as I was in 2015. I need God to create miracles in my life. I need people to look at my life and know that I am His. I need to see the supernatural. My faith in Him is in dire need to be strengthened. My fast also includes a social media fast. That's right, I ain't on twittuh, facebook, snapchat, instagram, nothing. That's the easy part for me.
